Have Any Time for Some Quick “Mama Reads”?
How was your week? Did you find any time for you this week? I hope so! This week has been a busy work week for me. My two oldest have been with their dad, and my youngest is loving a new daycare. But even with all of this work time, I still feel too busy and behind. Do you work in or outside the home? How do you manage your time? Share your tips in the comments below with me, pretty please! I desperately need them. Now let’s get on to some good reading.
Have a busy week coming up? (I know, I know – what mama doesn’t?!) Need some encouragement or just something to read in your downtime? Here are my favorite “Mama Reads” for you…
My Favorite “Mama Reads” This Week:
- What to Do After You Yell at Your Kids – I don’t know a mom – or person – who doesn’t yell at some point. It happens. We’re human. But it’s what we do AFTER than really matters.
“I need to explain why I didn’t manage things better – because I can’t expect my kids to know or understand that I am tired, or stressed out, or overwhelmed unless I tell them.
I need to explain how I could have handled the situation better – because we can’t learn unless we work out how to do better next time.”
- One Line Affirmations for Moms – I’ve been working on using more positive self-talk. I love this list of simple affirmations especially for moms!
“Just for today, I’m going to try to bisect that loop. I’m going to intersect the negative self-talk not by turning off my brain—since that will never happen—but rather by replacing each and every defeatist thought with a positive mama-mantra.”
- Why Moms Need Their Own Space – I don’t have this luxury. But I need it. Do you have a space of your own?
“It’s also important for me to have my boys understand that I am my own person with my own thoughts. Having this room and having them learn how to respect my space is key in them learning that I am not just here to serve the family. And yes, there are lots of things that go into that — but trust me, having my own space was a physical indication of the fact that I have my own things going on outside of their daily needs.”
Some Mama Reads from B-Inspired Mama:
Note – I have decided to change Mama Reads to just a weekly feature, without the link party at the bottom. But I’d still love to read your words and hear from you! If you have an encouraging or inspiring blog post to share, feel free to post it any day on B-Inspired Mama’s facebook wall.
How do you find encouragement and inspiration during your busy days, Mama? Do these “Mama Reads” help? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
