More Mama Reads for Your Busy Mama Time…
How was your week? Ours was nice. More relaxing now that we have the house listed and all of our cleaning/organizing done. And exciting to be house hunting, too.
Have a busy week coming up? (I know, I know… what mama doesn’t?!) Need some encouragement or just something to read in your downtime? Here are my favorite “Mama Reads” for you…
My Favorite “Mama Reads” This Week:
- Six Things About Parenting That Make Me Laugh – Sometimes we just need to laugh. Here’s a little perspective to get you through your week.
“It can be easy to miss the humour of parenting. Sometimes it gets lost under the piles of laundry, and the notes from school, but you need to dig out from under the hard stuff, you need to find the funny moments and let them grow.”
- 5 Ways to Have a Calm Family Life – Calm feels nearly unattainable as a parent of three kids. I needed these tips to try to bring more calm into our family.
“Positivity. Being a positive mother, partner and friend can reverberate throughout all the communities and relationships of your life. Surround yourself with positivity, think positive, be generous with your encouraging words and watch the calmness come into your family!’”
- What Doing a Good Job in Motherhood Really Looks Like – YES! I struggle with this every. day. We all need to stop being so hard on ourselves as parents.
“I think it’s enough to all collectively realize that motherhood (or parenthood) isn’t made for wimps. We’re all going to have days where you might as well give us the tiara and crown for awesome mom and then in the same week days where we feel like the worst mom ever and we explode over things like macaroni spilled on the floor and marker on the wall and late homework.”
- The Day I Stopped Saying “Hurry Up” to my Children – Oh my. I know I’m guilty of this. It’s so hard. I love this reminder.
“My promise to slow down was made almost three years ago, at the same time I began my journey to let go of daily distraction and grasp what matters in life. Living at a slower pace still takes a concerted effort. But my younger daughter is my living reminder of why I must keep trying.”
Note – I have decided to change Mama Reads to just a weekly feature, without the link party at the bottom. But I’d still love to read your words and hear from you! If you have an encouraging or inspiring blog post to share, feel free to post it any day on B-Inspired Mama’s facebook wall.
