A Halloween Activity for Learning the Letter P!

Priscilla’s been working on learning her letters lately, so I thought it’s be fun to put together some pumpkin and Halloween themed activities for her.  Here’s a Halloween activity I came up with for her to practice her letter P recognition…

Supplies:

  • white paper
  • pencil
  • black marker
  • green marker
  • round plate or bowl for tracing
  • small letter stamps or stickers
  • black ink pad (if using letter stamps)
  • orange and yellow dot markers

Making a Letter P Learning Halloween Activity at B-Inspired Mama

Steps:

  1. Use a pencil and large plate or bowl to trace a large circle on white paper.  Use the pencil to add a leaf and step  to the top.
  2. Trace over the pencil lines with a black marker.
  3. Use the letter stamps or stickers to add a variety of letters inside the pumpkin.  Make sure to scatter in lots of letter P’s.
  4. Challenge your little one to find and dot each letter P with the dot markers. Then they can use the green marker to color in the stem and leaf.
  5. Display it as is or cut it out and mount it on colorful construction paper.

This ended up being a simple little Halloween activity to encourage some letter P learning, too.  Plus it ends up looking cute when you hang it and can be referenced when practicing the letter P throughout the entire Fall season.

Do you do have a Halloween craft or Halloween activity to share? I’d love to hear about it in the comment below!

    Hi Krissy,

I love this polka dot pumpkin activity! I’m going to add it to our October activity list for my daughter. I also just took out our Mr. Pumpkin Head from last year for October too. So fun!

I’d love it if you could come by our new Pinning for Play link party & share this with us!
