With Earth Day coming up in April, Spring is the perfect time of year to do some fun recycled crafts with the kids. And with my kids’ love for Tum-E Yummies, our recycling bin always has some plastic bottles for a fun plastic bottle craft.
Here’s how we transformed our Tum-E Yummies bottles into a funky flower vase…
Funky Flower Vase Upcycled Plastic Bottle Craft
Supplies:
- Tum-E Yummies plastic bottles
(emptied)
- Variety of permanent markers
- Liquid glue
- 3” of ribbon
per bottle
- Pipe cleaners
- Muffin liners
Steps:
To make your funky stained glass style vase, first, rip the label off the bottled.
If you’re having trouble getting the label adhesive off, try some adhesive remover you can find in the cleaning supply aisle. I’ve heard peanut butter
works, too. Or you can just leave it and color over it; imperfections give arts and craft character, right?
Using a black permanent marker, draw various shapes and geometric lines all over the plastic bottle.
Then, go back with the colored permanent markers and color in each section – trying not to have the same color side-by-side.
Once you’ve colored in the whole bottle, brush some glue onto the bottle’s neck and wrap it with a piece of ribbon.
Make some pipe cleaner flowers for your funky vase by poking the ends of pipe cleaners through cupcake liners and folding the ends down a bit.
Arrange your pipe cleaner flowers in your funky vase and you’re done! See (in the photo above) how the light shines through the vase to make a stained glass effect? Beautiful, right?! Wouldn’t this easy plastic bottle craft be fun to make as a Mother’s Day gift for mom or grandma? Or just to decorate the dining room table on a Spring day.
Why We Love Tum-E Yummies:
Tum-E Yummies plastic bottles are perfect for recycled crafts for kids. But the best part is drinking the fruit flavored water before crafting!
The fun bright colors, yummy fruit flavors, and cool (no-spill!) sports caps are a hit with the kids. What kid wouldn’t love flavors like Very Berry Blue, Greentastic Apple, Fruitabulous Punch, Orange-arific, and Sour-sational Raspberry? And the 100% daily value of vitamin C, B6, B12 and only 50 calories and 13g of sugar per serving makes Tum-E Yummies a hit according to me.
Find Tum-E Yummies at your local convenience store. It may also be found in grocery, drug, and mass merchandiser stores across the US.
Plus, follow Tum-E Yummies on Facebook, Instagram, and Pinterest for more creative kids’ ideas!
