Make a Paper Flower Craft Bowl for Mother’s Day

Now, it actually takes fewer supplies to make a paper craft bowl than you would think. And, kids love to do the paper mache collage technique to make it, too.

It’s actually made the same way we did those classic paper mache crafts as kids. (Remember doing paper mache on an inflated balloon to make a planet? I know I’m not the only one!)

But, instead of gluing tissue paper onto balloons, kids glue printed paper flowers onto an upside-down bowl.

Then, once their paper bowl is dry and the paper has hardened, they can pull it off and have a pretty paper bowl to give mom for Mother’s Day!

DIY Paper Bowl Variations for Kids of All Ageas

While our printable flowers are easy to use, you can use any paper you want to make your paper bowl. (Just skip the cardstock since it’s difficult to form around the bowl.) Check out these alternative flower craft bowl ideas…

Paper Bowl Craft with Kid-Drawn Flowers — Have preschoolers use permanent markers to draw flowers on a piece of construction paper. Then, have the kids use that paper to make paper bowls that will surely be adorable keepsakes their moms will cherish forever.

Paper Bowl Craft with Flower Stickers — Or, have little ones put flower stickers all over a few sheets of construction paper. Then, use a circle punch to cut circles out of the sticker-covered paper, and use those circles to make your craft paper bowls.

Magazine Flower Collage Craft Bowl — Have the kids use scissors to cut flowers out of old gardening magazines or seed catalogs. Then, use them to make paper bowls with realistic flowers for mom.

Punched Paper Flower Bowl — Use your Cricut Cutting Machine or some flower-shaped paper punches to cut out a bunch of construction paper flowers. Then, layer those to make your homemade paper bowl.

Pressed Flower Bowl Craft — Or, make a paper bowl out of old newspapers or antiqued collage paper. Then, decorate it with entire pressed flowers before finishing with a final coat of Mod Podge.

Paper Craft Flower Pot Mother’s Day Gift — Form your paper over a flower pot instead of a bowl to make a paper collage flower pot. Use Mod Podge Dishwasher Safe Sealer both inside and out to make it durable enough to plant flowers in.

Mothers Day Paper Flower Vase — Or, make a paper craft flower pot like above, but use it as a flower vase for handmade paper flowers or egg carton flowers. With additional coats of Dishwasher Safe Sealer, you can add even water and a real flower bouquet.
