(Activity Extension: You could also try drawing your own paper flowers to create your paper bowl instead of using the printable ones!)
Step 1: Print and cut out flowers. We printed off two copies of the flower printable to make sure we had enough flowers to cover our bowl.
Step 2: Place the bowl upside down and wrap the bowl with plastic wrap.
Step 3: Layer the flowers over the plastic wrap making sure the petals overlap. Brush on Mod Podge over the flowers. Be sure to coat the flowers and petals well with Mod Podge and let dry.
Step 4: Once the Mod Podge has dried completely, take your hardened flower bowl off and carefully peel off the plastic wrap. Our flower bowl peeled off easy from the plastic wrap.
Step 5: (Optional) You may wish to paint the blank side of the flowers or leave white. We also decided to turn our bowl inside out by carefully pushing down on the center flower.
This is an easy Mother’s Day craft for kids to make – that mom is sure to love!
We filled our flower bowl with candy, but be inspired to put whatever you wish in your paper bowl.
We are thinking of making a matching paper platter to go with our bowl! So many different ways you could use this idea, let your children help create and design their own paper dishes.
