Last week Disney sent us their newest release in the Buddies series, the “epic tail” of Disney Super Buddies. Yep, those adorable pups are up to their crazy antics again, but this time superhero style!

The kids love the Buddies movies and this one didn’t disappoint. It brought us lots of laughs for our family movie night and even some great discussion about what makes a real hero. And, of course, the superhero fun abounds at our house now!

So, I decided to tap into the kids’ superhero excitement to get them practicing the letters of the alphabet… using a superhero themed upper and lowercase letters matching game!

A Fun (and Free) Upper and Lowercase Letters Printable

Superhero Upper and Lowercase Letters Printable Matching Game

Priscilla has been itching to learn to read lately. She knows the entire alphabet, but we started with capital letters like most pre-k kids. So, she could still use some practice with alphabet letter recognition, especially identifying lowercase letters of the alphabet.

So, when I saw the adorable superhero clipart at Clementine Digitals, I was inspired to make a cute superhero-style upper and lowercase letters printable to use for a fun uppercase and lowercase alphabet game with fun superhero cards for each uppercase letter and round superhero bursts for each lower case letter.

Get your Free Printable Uppercase and Lowercase Letters Printable:

After I printed the free alphabet printables, I cut the lowercase letter bursts out with a 2″ circle punch. I trimmed the uppercase letter cards with my paper trimmer. Then, I laminated all of the cards and circles so they’ are ‘re easier for Kindergarten kids’ fingers to handle and so they last longer.

Now, they could be used as-is for uppercase and lowercase alphabet sorting. Or, you can turn the letter printables into a clip letter matching game that’s perfect for Kindergarten children. Simply use a glue gun to attach each lower case letter circle to a colorful clothespin. Then, young children can clip each lowercase letter to it’s matching upper case letter card. Pinching the clips is a fun hands-on way to make letter pairs. And it provides excellent fine motor skills practice, too.

No, the uppercase are only on the cards and lowercase on the circles. Sorry!

I am so in love with these! I’m going to make these for Lucy, and I think they’d be a great classroom center or busy bag too. Maybe I’ll just have to make a set for Lucy’s Kinder teacher. Just shared on my FB page! Thanks so much for linking up to Discover & Explore this week!
