A Charm Bracelet Craft to Celebrate Friendship!

I hate to admit; my kids haven’t made close friends outside of their siblings until just recently.  I think partially because they have moved a couple times, they’ve changed schools, and they’re only ages 3, 6, and 8.  But now that my Priscilla and Sawyer have started at a new charter school this year, they’re starting to really bond with their school buds.  I’m really excited to see their friendships blooming and them learning so much through it.

Last week we were sent some Little Charmers goodies and since the new Nick Jr. TV show Little Charmers celebrates friendship, we were inspired to do a Friendship Charm Bracelet Craft.  Here’s how to make some charm bracelets with your kiddos, too…

Supplies:

  • shrink plastic
  • permanent markers
  • scissors
  • hole punch
  • cookie sheet
  • parchment paper or a brown paper bag
  • toaster oven or oven
  • jump rings
  • metal charm bracelet

Steps:

First, you’ll need to design your charms on the shrink plastic.  Follow the directions on the shrink plastic, make sure to use permanent markers and draw them larger than you want since they will shrink in the oven.  Cut them out and punch one hole in the edge of each charm.

Next, place your cut out charms on a (parchment or paper bag) lined cookie sheet.  Follow the directions on your shrink plastic for oven temperature and time.

Finally, use some jump rings to attach your charms to a metal charm bracelet.

More About Little Charmers:

With my Priscilla now having her own close girlfriends, she’s loving the new Nick Jr. TV show, Little Charmers, that celebrates friendship…

In the magical land of Charmville, three Charmers-in-Training do their best to make good use of their new magical powers which tend to lead to hilarious misadventures!. Ultimately, the Little Charmers find their most important power is their true friendship, and they learn that a mix of teamwork and self-confidence can help them overcome anything that comes their way!
