Some Super Cute Non-Candy Valentines!

Just as I’ve finally rid the house of Halloween candy, Valentine’s Day is here and promising copious amounts of chocolate and sugar coming home in backpacks – along with the inevitable sugar highs, of course!

While I don’t mind the occasional treat, with 27 kids in my daughter’s kindergarten class, I wanted to do something a bit different and opt for a non-candy Valentine this year.

We found these cute googly-eyed finger puppet rings for super cheap at a local party shop, and Miss G and I immediately agreed that they would make excellent Valentine’s treats!  They’re fun, durable, and gender neutral.

Rather than buy the rings and a pack of Valentines, I decided to whip up Valentines printables that better pair with the rings.  So, of course, I had to share them with you!

Supplies for the I've Got my Eyes on You Valentine - with FREE Valentines Printables - at B-Inspired Mama

All you have to do is print the free Valentines printables onto cardstock, cut the sheet into separate Valentines, and then make two cuts within the pink oval for the ring to attach to the card.

Here’s how I did it:

I measured how wide the ring was to determine how far apart to place the cuts and then ensured that the cuts were long enough for me to push the “eye part” of the ring through.

You could alternatively use a bit of string or a twist tie to attach the ring, but I like that this method uses no extra materials, and it was really easy for all of the kids to remove.

If you don’t have time to order those cute little googly eye rings, you could opt for making a googly-eyed craft or maybe even a cute pair of craft sunglasses to go with the “eyes” theme.
