Since Easter is fast approaching and warm weather is setting it, I dug this easy Easter Twig Nest Activity out of last year’s archives for you…

I’ve been wanting to make this Twig Nest with the little ones since our Letter N week.  But rain and sickness held us off until now.  Which works out, because it’s perfect for Easter, too!
We used:
  • Twigs and sticks we gathered from the yard (tweeting and flapping wings like a bird while doing so!)
  • A round grapevine wreath from Hobby Lobby
  • Various feathers (the kids only wanted to use brown ones)
  • Little birdies from Hobby Lobby

We just took our twigs and wove and tucked then in and among the wreath.  This was a bit harder for the kids than expected, so I helped lots.
Then we added some feathers into it, too.
Finally we placed the birdies on by twisting their wire around the twigs.  Added our Easter eggs.  And placed it on a vintage plastic doily and tray I had in storage.  Now I just can’t wait to see what it looks like with our dyed Easter eggs in it!
