Get the Kids in the Kitchen to Make Sweet Flowers!

Since the Easter Bunny Pretzel Treats were such a hit last week, we got the kids in the kitchen this week to make some Easy Candy Flowers in celebration of Spring.  When I saw the pastel colored candy corn in the Easter candy aisle at the store, I just knew they would make perfect flower petals.  And I think they did!  Here’s what we did…

Ingredients:

  • Brach’s Pastel Candy Corn
  • Reese’s Pieces Easter Pastel Eggs
  • Hershey’s Hugs
  • foil or parchment paper

Steps:

1. On a foil or parchment paper lined cookies sheet, place five (or six) candy corns of each color with white ends touching to create each flower.

2. Let your little one unwrap the Hershey’s Hugs for some great fine motor practice.

3. Place one Hershey’s Hug on top of each group or “flower” of candy corn.

4. Bake 300 degree oven until chocolate is just starting to soften (about 10 minutes).

5. Remove from oven and carefully place one Reese’s Pieces Pastel Egg on top of the softened chocolate on each “flower.”  (Be very watchful of little hands since the cookie sheet will be hot.)

6. Place the cookie sheet in the freezer for about a half hour for the chocolate to harden.

Enjoy!

So cute and fun! I especially love that kids can set up the entire treat (apart from putting them in the oven!)
