Neon Slime Popcorn Snack Mix

A Popcorn Snack Mix for the Kids’ Choice Awards!

If you follow along here at B-Inspired Mama, you know that popcorn snack mixes are our favorite family movie night snacks.  So when Nickelodeon and Bounty Paper Towels invited us to celebrate the upcoming Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards, we knew we’d do so with a fun popcorn recipe!  And what better way than to incorporate the awesome award show’s signature neon green slime?!  Check out our fun slime popcorn snack mix that we’ll be munching on while we watch the awards this year…

Neon Slime Popcorn Snack Mix

Ingredients:

• 1 package microwave popcorn – popped
• (1) 12 oz. package neon green colored candy melts (We found ours at Michael’s Craft Store.)
• a couple handfuls of neon colored confetti sprinkles (not pictured)
• a couple handfuls of plain almonds
• a baking sheet lined with parchment paper
• a roll of Bounty for cleanup!

Steps: First, pop your popcorn in the microwave (or use air pop popcorn if you’d like).  While that’s popping, line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Spread your popped popcorn out on your parchment lined baking sheet.  Sprinkle your almonds all over your popcorn.  Then melt the candy melts according to the package directions.  (It took us about 3 minutes with lots of stir breaks in the microwave.)

Once your candy melts are all melted, drizzle the melted candy (it’s a lot like chocolate!) all over your popcorn and almonds.

Sprinkle with confetti sprinkles all over the popcorn, almond and candy melt mix.  Pop it in the fridge for about 20 minutes to let the candy melt harden.  While your Slime Popcorn Snack Mix is in the fridge, grab those Bounty Paper Towels to clean up the candy melt and sprinkles mess!  Take your popcorn mix out of the fridge after 20 minutes, break it all apart, and enjoy while you watch the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards!
