March is Reading Month!

We all know that reading to our kids is important.  But do you really make time to do it every day?  Well, this is the month to make reading with your kids a priority, Mamas!

Take LeapFrog's Reading Month Pledge + a LeapFrog Giveaway at B-InspiredMama.com

In celebration of Reading Month, LeapFrog is challenging YOU to read to your kids just 20 minutes each day.

“Studies show that the more children read, the better readers they become. In one study, children who read 20 or more minutes per day scored in or above the 90th percentile; those who read less than 10 minutes scored below the 75th percentile.*

But it’s not simply about reading more. Children who are actively engaged as they read—thinking about what they are reading versus looking passively at the words on the page—have been shown to regularly outperform children who are less engaged in what they are reading.”

Take the LeapFrog Reading Month Pledge

You can take LeapFrog’s 20 Minute Reading Month Pledge, and if you share one of their posts about it, LeapFrog will even donate five books to public elementary school through the charity, We Give Books.

The LeapFrog Reading Month Pledge at B-InspiredMama.com

LeapFrog offers fun tools to actively engage even the youngest readers.  My little J.C. loves the cause and effect of the Tag Junior system and the board books hold up to his frequent (and often rough) use.

LeapFrog Tag Prize Pack Giveaway

I am so excited that LeapFrog has offered to giveaway one LeapFrog Prize Pack including: Tag Leap and the Lost Dinosaur, Tag Get Ready for Kindergarten, Tag Junior Toddler Milestones, Tag Junior Animals Around the World.  An approximate value of $50 and can be won by one U.S. reader.  Just enter here…

a Rafflecopter giveaway

If you just can’t wait to win, you can get $3 off your purchase of Tag Products through LeapFrog, too.

Will you take the Reading Month Pledge?  How do you fit in 20 minutes of reading a day with your kids?
