Each October, when it comes time to finding a Halloween costume for my daughter, I can’t help but cringe.
Sure. Dressing as a sexy nurse for Halloween may be fun for adults, but it’s obviously not a Halloween costume I will allow for my 7-year-old (or 16-year-old for that matter). Sadly, more and more of these adult-oriented costumes are creeping their way into our girls’ costumes, too.
So, this year I made it my mission to find cute and MODEST girl Halloween costumes.
What is a Modest Girl Halloween Costume?
As far as I’m concerned, a modest girl costume meets the following requirements:
- skirt at or below the knee
- midriff covered
- no plunging necklines
Of course, every mama has to make their own decision on the definition of “modest.” For example, I’m on the edge a bit with that skin-tight Harley Quinn costume, and I’d probably require an undershirt with the Belly Dancer costume.
