Monster Cupcakes 3

I had some food coloring pens hanging around and thought it would be fun to use them on some marshmallows.  Add in some toothpicks, crystal sugar, and cupcake bases and you’ve got yourself some really fun Kid Made Monster Cupcakes!

Monster Cupcakes 1

We just used a store-bought cupcake mix and icing, because the fun was definitely in the decorating.

Mini marshmallows make awesome monster eyes.  Sawyer’s guy had THREE!

Monster Cupcakes 2

And Priscilla loved sugar coating her marshmallows by dipping them in water and then in the colored crystal sugar.

These would be so fun to have the kids make at a Monster themed Birthday party, wouldn’t they?!

Have you ever used food coloring pens?  Have you ever decorated any cakes or cupcakes with marshmallows?  I’d love to hear about it!

So fun! My little boy has to wear a patch on his eye right eye too! Thankfully, we only have to do six hours a week but he is not a fan of it!

That's pretty much what happened here. Just raided the cupboard to see what we had and went form there! I hope you had fun.
