Banana “Pudding” Perfect for Summer!
Want to treat your family this summer? Breyers® has you covered! They have teamed up with Chef Antonia Lofaso to show us how Breyers® Natural Vanilla Ice Cream is the perfect base for some decadent, yet easy and family-friendly, treats. I tried out the Banana “Pudding” recipe, and my banana-lover J.C. ate it right up. The caramelized bananas sure took our typical vanilla ice cream treat to a whole new level. I felt like a fancy-schmancy chef, but it was actually easy enough for my J.C. to help make. Here’s how you can make it, too…
Chef Antonia Lofaso’s Banana “Pudding”
- 1/2 large ripe banana, cut into 4 equal pieces
- 1 Tbsp. turbinado sugar
- 1 tsp. spreadable butter
- 1 cup Breyers® Natural Vanilla Ice Cream
- 4 vanilla wafer cookies
Steps: Have your little one help cut the banana pieces. Since they’re so soft, they’re perfect for cutting practice with a butter knife.
Put banana pieces on a baking sheet (we used a plate) and sprinkle flat sides with turbinado sugar.
Melt butter in a small nonstick skillet and sauté bananas.
J.C. put the mini vanilla wafers on his Breyers® Natural Vanilla Ice Cream while I sautéed the bananas. Then we topped the whole thing with our warm sautéed bananas. Yum!
Try Breyers® Natural Vanilla for Family-Friendly Treats!
In our culture full of everything artificial, I love knowing that my kids are getting quality ingredients when I serve them a sweet treat with Breyers® Ice Cream. The milk and cream used to make their ice cream are from American cows not treated with artificial growth hormones*, and the vanilla used is real and from sustainably farmed, Rainforest Alliance Certified™ vanilla beans.
And Breyers® Natural Vanilla Ice Cream is the perfect base for so many fun treats. Check out these other family-friendly recipes from Chef Antonia Lofaso:
