A Fun (& Easy) Breakfast Idea for the Kids!

Need a fun breakfast idea for a special morning?  Or want to entice your picky eater to eat a decent breakfast?  Transform their RICE KRISPIES® Cereal into a friendly SNAIL!  Here’s how we did it…

A Silly Cereal Snail to Make Breakfast Fun for the Kids

Silly Cereal Snail Breakfast Idea

Ingredients:

  • Rice Krispies® Cereal (We chose Frosted Rice Krispies®, because it’s delicious!)
  • strawberry syrup
  • a banana
  • candy eyes
  • pretzel sticks

Steps:

This is almost too simple for “steps”, but I’ll explain how we made our silly snail anyway.

Pour your favorite Rice Krispies® Cereal into a bowl.  Add a swirl of strawberry (or chocolate?!)  syrup to transform your cereal into a snail’s shell.

Position a peeled banana along the bowl to start making the snail’s body.  Stick two pretzel sticks into the top of the banana for the antennae.  Then add some candy eyes, too.

If your kiddo is a science buff like my Sawyer he might let you know that the eyes should actually be at the top of the antennae!  I was schooled AFTER making our cereal snail friend.  Ooops!  But upon further research we discovered that water snails do have eyes at the base of their antennae.  So there, Sawyer.  *wink*  Either way we think our Silly Snail is a fun breakfast idea, don’t you?

Make sure to follow Rice Krispies® on Pinterest, Facebook and Twitter for more fun – and yummy – breakfast and snack ideas, too!
