I’ve been working hard around my house lately – to not have to work so hard.
“What does that mean?” you ask?
Well, since school started, I’ve been working on putting systems into place to get my kids following routines, behaving better, and doing more chores around the house.
It’s developing slowly, but I’m so happy with how things are progressing so far.
With the help of a few systems and tools I’ve put into place, my kids are doing more chores and following directions far better than ever before. I’ll be sharing the entire system with you soon. As soon as I get it perfected and prettied up for you!
But for now, to get you started, I’ve created a handy printable listing out age appropriate chores for kids. PLUS, I’ve got a great tip for a fun (and FREE!) reward, too.

Age Appropriate Chores for Kids – A Printable Chore List
Instead of using specific ages, I broke the list down into age appropriate chores for toddlers, preschools, and elementary-aged kids. This way, you can assess what developmental level your child is at instead of worrying about a specific age.
And you’ll notice some chores are repeated since older kids can do chores younger kids can. And some chores say “HELP” in front of them, since younger kids can start helping with those chores, but may not be ready to do them on their own.
Go ahead and print out the list, and hang it on your fridge or in your family “command center.” Then you’ll be able to choose a chore for your kiddos at a quick glance.
