Things Kids Can Do for Mom

Your day’s coming up, Mama!  Mother’s Day is right around the corner.  And as mamas, we don’t expect anything fancy or expensive.  We just want something heartfelt from our kids, right? Well, I’ve compiled a list of six easy things kids can do for MOM!   (Yes, go ahead and “accidentally” leave this web page on the browser for your partner to see…)

6 Things Kids Can Do For Mom for Mother’s Day

1. Make Breakfast for Mom

Prep everything ahead of time and let the kids make you breakfast for once.  Provide the kids with all of the toppings for a yogurt breakfast sundae (via JDaniel4’s Mom).  Or let your kids get creative and make berry flowers on a breakfast bagel.  If they need a little help, enjoy the quality time with them in the kitchen.

2. Make a Handprint Craft

Every mom loves their child’s handprint.  Capturing those tiny fingers and hands makes any craft so much more special.  Help your kids make handprint flowers on an apron or make a framed handprint heart.

3. Write About Mom

You’re kids think the world of you.  Help them express it in writing using a printable Mother’s Day questionnaire.  Or prompt older kids to write you a heartfelt message with this free letter to mom printable (via Literacy Minute).

4. Draw Mom a Picture

Have your little ones draw you a picture.  Then you can keep it forever by making it into a necklace (via Periwinkle School) or embroidering it onto a keepsake tea towel (via Buzzmills).

5. Give Her a Card

Give your kids a bunch of art supplies, paper folded into a card, and free reign.  Or print this Mother’s Day card (via hellobee) on heavy paper and let your kids paint it with watercolors.

6. Make Dinner for Mom

They can make it special (and more fun!) with these delicious meatloaf muffin hearts.  The little ones might have trouble doing this one alone.  So if you want a break from cooking, send this dad’s guide to cooking Mother’s Day dinner (via Woman’s Day) to your significant other.
