A Kids Fruit Exploration…
When I was given the chance to learn about and try out FruitsMax, it got me thinking about how much fruit (or lack thereof) my picky eaters really eat. Sure, they love their bananas and the occasional apple. But if I’m being completely honest, the only other fruit we have on a regular basis is individually packed and processed. So I thought it’d be fun to do a little Kids Fruit Exploration Fun. Check it out…
Kids Fruit Learning Through Exploration & eBooks
When the kids got home from school I set out a huge tray of all kinds of fruit. Some they’d seen and tried before, and some I had never even tried!
We had everything from the familiar bananas, grapes, and apples, to the unusual star fruit and prickly pear. I let them at it; encouraging them to explore it by touch and smell. I asked them leading questions, like which fruits look shiny? Which ones feel prickly? Which ones have you eaten and like best? Which ones do you want to try?
Then we checked out an ebook about Fruit on the Kindle. It was just a simple book with silly fruit pictures and words. But the kids had fun finding the fruit on the tray that matched the fruit on the page.
Then we practiced washing and cutting the fruit. It was great life skill practice for Priscilla especially!
And FINALLY, we ate some! We dug in. The kids tried fruits that they’d never tried before. And they liked some of the new ones, too! I was definitely excited to be expanding the palate of my picky eaters!
