A Kids Recipe Perfect for the Grill!
Have I told you that I love grilling season? My hubby takes the mess outside to his new grill, watches the kids play in the yard, and gives this mama a little peace and quiet while I prep the rest of dinner. Plus I know we’re getting some good quality protein, like Walmart® Ground Beef, with our meal! Here’s one kids recipe (if you can even call it a “recipe”) to make a simple burger even more fun – and enticing – for the kids…

Fun Bunless Burger Boats Kids Recipe
Ingredients & Supplies:
- fresh Walmart® Ground Beef
- salt & pepper
- lettuce
- barbecue sauce
- sliced cheese (We used provolone.)
- block cheese (We used cheddar.)
- toothpicks
Steps:
Prepare your fresh ground beef into patties about the size of the palm of your hand. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and pop on the grill over medium heat.
While the burgers are grilling, make a “sea” of lettuce leaves on a plate. Then cute some 1/4″ thick slices of block cheese into triangles for “sails” for your burger boats.
When burgers are nearly done of the grill, top them with a slice of cheese and allow a few minutes for the cheese to melt. Place your cheeseburgers onto the “sea” of lettuce, add a dollop of barbecue sauce, a toothpick, and the triangle “sails”.
Let the kids sail away with their Bunless Burger Boats!
Gather ‘Round the Grill with Walmart® Ground Beef
We find everything we need for our family grilling right at Walmart®. Cliff likes the Kingsford Charcoal and huge barbecue sauce selection, while I love the freshness and great value of the ground beef.
