DIY Wall Book Display + 12 More Kid’s Book Storage Ideas
Wall Book Display
I think my favorite DIY in my Priscilla’s room is her wall book display baskets. I searched high and low for just the right baskets to store her favorite bedtime books near her bed. These colorful red ones are sturdy yet not brittle. And they have a metal rim around the top which was perfect for screwing right into the wall. Easy, peasy wall book display.

What a great selection of ideas – we have shelves in the kids bedrooms but I have also created book boxes for them both from old diaper boxes which I've padded then covered in fabrics. http://rainydaymum.co.uk/book-storage-part-1 this is the frog one for my son – my daughters is russian dolls
Thanks awesome, Cerys! I've seen diaper boxes covered in fabric, but I love how yours is padded, too.
My mom is coming to visit soon, and book storage/display is one of our big projects – book storage for functionality and book display for some family heirloom books. http://jennifischer.blogspot.com/2012/05/books-as-heirlooms-100-childrens-book.html
Can't wait to see what you come up with!
Thanks for the storage ideas… books seem to scatter across the floor here! Glad to see you again at tip toe thru tuesday!
Don't get me wrong – books still scatter here, too! But at lease the kids know where to put them back when I ask.
These are some fabulous ideas, thanks!
Wow! What a great storage idea. Wonderful work. Jodi @ http://www.meaningfulmama.com
Great Idea! I've been looking for some good book storage ideas for my son's room that I'm redoing. I actually have two of those same baskets… but they are purple and blue.. I wonder if I could paint them… Thanks for he tip
I’m sure you could spray paint them. I love the Krylon Fusion for Plastic spray paint. It sticks to everything!
Where did you find the baskets? I absolutely LOVE this idea and would like to do this for my boys playroom.
I think I found these particular baskets at TJ Maxx. I shopped for awhile before I found just the right ones. I kept my eye out at Target and TJ Maxx.
How did you attach these to the wall?
I was able to screw right in between the woven fibers or the basket right into the wall. The basket has a metal rim around the top, so that sits just above the screws and holds it right against that wall.
