Whatever Sawyer (age 5) is doing, Priscilla (age 3) is not far behind. Ever since Sawyer learned to read in Kindergarten, Priscilla seems especially interested in reading, too. Priscilla will even try to help sound out words when Sawyer reads to us during story time. I try not to push my young kids too far ahead academically. But I figure I might as well capitalize on her interest in reading while it’s there, right? So I recently started Priscilla on Reading Kingdom’s online reading program.
Here’s why we love Reading Kingdom…
Makes Reading Fun. The game-like animation and sounds make learning to read fun and interesting for kids of all ages.
Teaches Computer Skills, Too. Reading Kingdom has special games to teach kids mouse and keyboard skills before continuing on to their reading games.
Adjusts to Your Child’s Ability. Kids take a skills assessment “test” before starting so that the reading games will build on their individual skill level.
Grows with Your Kids. Both my 3 year old and 5 year old love (and learn from) Reading Kingdom. The program continues through the 3rd grade reading level.
Gives Mom a Break! Reading Kingdom is designed for kids to use independently of any adult help. So beg to “play Reading Kingdom,” I get a little mommy break!
Here is a little bit about Reading Kingdom in their words…
Our commitment to online reading for kids is based on our patented six skills method for reading success. These skills include sequencing, motor skills, phonics (phonemic awareness), meaning, grammar and reading comprehension. Our online reading for kids program is ideal for preschool, kindergarten, first grade, second grade, third grade, special education, homeschool, and English as a second language. The Reading Kingdom online reading for kids program is an ideal supplement to existing curricula, as well an excellent independent curriculum. Our online reading for kids program is also a great educational alternative to other entertainment options. In fact, most children refer to the Reading Kingdom as a reading game, since it is so fun to play.
