Make a Fruit and Yogurt Parfait with Your Child

One reason I like cooking with my son is because when kids are involved in preparing food, they are more likely to eat what they made. This is especially true when feeding your kids something healthy.  And I love this particular Fruit and Yogurt Parfait kids recipe because it is easy enough that a small child could even make this as breakfast for the whole family. Not to mention that it is super healthy and delicious!  Here’s how we made it…

Kids Fruit and Yogurt Parfait from Creative Green Living at B-InspiredMama.com

Kids Fruit and Yogurt Parfait

Ingredients:

  • Yogurt – any flavor – We chose organic vanilla bean.
  • Fresh or frozen fruit you like, chopped – We used frozen strawberries that were thawed.
  • Granola

Steps for Making a Kids Fruit and Yogurt Parfait from Creative Green Living at B-InspiredMama.com

Direction:

  1. Place the ingredients out at kid level with 3 different spoons.
  2. Let you child layer ingredients in a short drinking glass or jelly jar.
  3. Enjoy your fancy fruit and yogurt parfait!

You can also do this (but without the granola) in small lidded jars to make single-serve fruit and yogurt parfaits from your homemade yogurt or the larger tub you bought at the store.

I love the simplicity of this healthy (but still yummy!) kids fruit and yogurt parfait recipe.  Only three ingredients; sign me up!  And you could change it up in so many ways.  Use candy instead of granola for a special treat.  Or add a layer of blueberries for a patriotic snack.  I’m so excited to make some parfaits with my kids now!

Would your child eat a fruit and yogurt parfait like this?  Would she like making her own?
