Afternoons vary for our busy family.  Some days I pick J.C. up from daycare and swing by the school to get my older two.  Other days J.C. and I spend the afternoon at home before heading out to the bus stop to pick up his older brother and sister.  Still others involve picking the older two kids up from school to then spend the rest of the afternoon travelling to meet their dad for their twice-monthly weekend visit.

Whichever afternoon it is, my kids greet me after daycare or school begging for a snack!

As if they aren’t crazy enough, we’re usually running around in the “Big Red Bus” (the sexy red minivan I resisted for far too long), drive-thrus tempting us at every turn.

A new SIMPLE after school snack hack (which I’ll share in just a minute!)…

AND

… delicious GOOD THiNS I found at my local Walmart.  (You can’t go wrong with a crispy, delicious snack – but with NO artificial flavors, NO artificial colors, NO high fructose corn syrup, NO partially hydrogenated oils, and NO cholesterol, amiright?!)

A Super Simple After School Snack Hack…

Be prepared.

Wait!  Don’t go!  I know, I know.  That’s really nothing new.  But there’s more…

I’ve started to be better prepared for my kids after school snack pleas in two ways:

1. By pre-packaging their favorite variety of GOOD THiNS into individual snack-sized portions.

2. By packing a thermal tote (we call it our “Snack Pack”!) with those GOOD THiNS snack bags, water cups, and hand wipes.

I know it’s still not mind blowing, but it’s amazingly helpful when I include this in our routine.  Since GOOD THiNS don’t need to be kept cool, I don’t even have to worry about adding a freezer pack.  (Although it’s nice if I remember one as it keeps our water cold.)  I just pack up our new “Snack Pack” in the morning when I pack the kids’ lunches and keep it in the van til the afternoon.  Then as the kids pile in after school, they pass around the “Snack Pack” to get their GOOD THiNS snacks and water.

No more crazies whining for snacks or begging for drive-thru treats!

Then they pass the “Snack Pack” up to mama so she can get her GOOD THiNS, too.  (If you know me, you know I never pass up a snack!)

Grab one of three delicious GOOD THiNS varieties – available in eight different flavors – during your next Walmart shopping trip:

  • GOOD THiNS Sweet Potato
  • GOOD THiNS Garlic & Herb
  • GOOD THiNS Spinach & Garlic
  • GOOD THiNS Veggie Blend
  • GOOD THiNS Sea Salt
  • GOOD THiNS Poppy & Sesame Seed
  • GOOD THiNS Sea Salt & Pepper

They’re really a snack you can feel good about including in your new after school “Snack Pack.”

Some more fun facts about GOOD THiNS:

  • The three potato flavors (Original, Sweet Potato and Spinach & Garlic) have 60% less fat than regular potato chips!
  • The Garlic & Herb variety is made with Real Chickpeas!
  • And the Veggie Blend variety is Gluten Free!

This is a great idea! If my son eats from the box he is more likely to eat way more than a serving so this will cut down the potion sizes too. I have never bought these before but I’m sure my son wold really enjoy them as a snack. Thanks for the baggie idea.
