My Kids’ School Outfits Have a Secret…

Even though we are homeschoolers, my kids still get excited to get new “school clothes” each year. It’s a fun tradition that has carried over from our public school days. And a good time to sort out their clothes and update their wardrobe, too. Plus they want to look cool for their new homeschool groups and field trips. But homeschooling can be a bit more expensive than public school and funds are a bit limited this year. So some of my kids’ school outfits have a little secret this year… they’re second-hand!

Affordable School Outfits from Moxie Jean

Now I’ve always been a huge fan of buying second-hand from thrift stores and yard sales. But with three kids (one of which is a squirmy toddler), pawing through those things just isn’t practical. You never know what you’re going to find, and I just don’t have the time or energy to do it. So I was SO excited to discover Moxie Jean!

It’s an online resale site full of high quality, clean brand name kids’ clothes – at great discounted prices. The pawing through, the inspection for stains and wear: it’s all done for you already! Yay!

Our 3+ School Outfits for Under $35

Priscilla loves mixing and matching a layering clothes. And I love that this means that we get more than one outfit out of less clothing! With just under $35, we purchased two cute skirts, Gap Elle leggings, a soft Gymboree sweater, a silly giraffe t-shirt, and adorable ruffled socks! Here she is showing it all off:

And here are three super-cute school outfits from JUST those clothes:

A Discount Code & A Back to School Shopping Spree!

The National Retail Federation about Back to School spending found that “shoppers will spend an average of $231.30 on clothes, up from $230.85, and $124.46 on shoes, up from $114.39 in 2013.” That’s $355 for each family on school clothes! And I could certainly find better ways to benefit my kids with $355.
