Fill shallow plastic food storage container around half full with water. Add a squirt of dish soap and a dollop of washable paint, then mix with straw (or a teaspoon) until water turns blue.
Have child practice blowing through the straw without sucking air through it.
Have child put the end of the straw in the blue soapy water and blow air through the straw to create blue bubbles. Encourage them to continue until bubbles billow up above the rim of the container.
Help child place their Bubble Blowing Bear Letter B Printable (or white construction paper) bear-side down onto the bubbles, then lift it off to see the blue bubble prints on the page. Repeat to "bubble paint" the entire bear.
To decorate your bear, let it dry completely. Help your child write a large letter B on it, then invite them to decorate their bear with googly eyes and assorted kids art supplies. Finally, help them cut the bear out with scissors and use a glue stick to glue it onto a construction paper background.
Throughout the activity, discuss the letter B and explore its sound and words, including "blue", "bubble", "blow", and "bear". If possible, listen to and recite the "B is for Bubble Blowing Bear" rhyme found in the Amazing Action Alphabet and/or on YouTube.
