Some Inspiring & Encouraging Mama Reads…
How was your week? We’ve had a very rainy one here in the Northeast. The kids finished their last days of school, so we’re all adjusting to the transition of them being home (and mama trying to continue working with kids around). Plus I’ve been continuing my house hunt. Nothing’s quite right yet, but I’ve seen lots of neat homes! Have any home selling and/or buying tips for me? Share them in the comments below!
Have a busy week coming up? (I know, I know… what mama doesn’t?!) Need some encouragement or just something to read in your downtime? Here are my favorite “Mama Reads” for you…
My Favorite “Mama Reads” This Week:
- She’s Not Giving Me a Hard Time, She’s Having a Hard Time – I’ve heard this saying before, and completely agree with it! I think it’s so easy to fall into that mindset that our kids are giving us a hard time, but it’s so important to shift our perspective to see how they are actually HAVING a hard time.
“At those times, when my daughter is playing up, acting out or expressing emotion, I have to stop seeing these behaviours as personal threats against me and my sanity.”
- Stop Trying to Be Happy – Such interesting thoughts about happiness!
“with regards to being happy, it seems the best advice is also the simplest: Imagine who you want to be and then step towards it. Dream big and then do something. Anything. The simple act of moving at all will change how you feel about the entire process and serve to inspire you further.”
- How I Want My Daughters to Weight Themselves – I love, love, LOVE this play on the word “weight”. So important to get our girls (and boys!) thinking about the things that are really important about them.
“I want them to weigh themselves based on their innate worth, character and for making a difference in this world. What they are able to accomplish, how they handle challenges and treat others is also important. These are the things that matter, not what a number says on the scale.”
- Moms of Summer: Forget the Socks, Let’s Find the Joy – Feeling overwhelmed with the kids being home for Summer Vacation already? This read’s for you!
“As the mom of three happy, healthy children, I see these summer challenges we’re all facing as badges of privilege. So I’m going to do my best — even when our family is at our worst — to wear them with honor.”
Note – I have decided to change Mama Reads to just a weekly feature, without the link party at the bottom. But I’d still love to read your words and hear from you! If you have an encouraging or inspiring blog post to share, feel free to post it any day on B-Inspired Mama’s facebook wall.
How do you find encouragement and inspiration during your busy days, Mama? Do these “Mama Reads” help? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
