More Mama Reads for This Week’s Mom Time…
How was your week? We’re still prepping the house to get it on the market, but it’s looking like that day will be next week. Eek! So much more to do (hence the late posting today!).
Have a busy week coming up? (I know, I know… what mama doesn’t?!) Need some encouragement or just something to read in your downtime? Here are my favorite “Mama Reads” for you…
My Favorite “Mama Reads” This Week:
- When It Isn’t Simple – Such a real post. Love it!
“Remember that one person’s simple might well be another person’s complicated. It’s okay to step away from things that don’t work for you and your family so that you can find what does work.”
- How to Keep Your Patience with Your Kids – Some really great tips on something I know we all struggle with at some point as parents!
“Sometimes we are most impatient because we’re actually being hard on ourselves. We’re snappy and awful outwardly because of intense thoughts going on inside. When we cut ourselves some slack and give ourselves grace in whatever area we are battling with, a softness replaces the impatience. Cut yourself some slack, and chill!”
- Family Therapist Suggests Parents Relearn to Play – This is one of the things I struggle with, yet love the most about being a mom. This article has some good tips on “relearning” how to play.
“O’Conner said play encourages the mastery and development of the crucial C’s: courage, capable, connect, count.
‘We want parents to help their children feel brave, to feel that they can do things, that they belong and that they matter,’ she said.”
- This is Ace – A moms beautiful and honest words about her newborn son with Down Syndrome.
“We have dreamed and laughed together about this new life we are entering. And we have remembered that, really, this is not a new life at all. It’s simply the road we’ve been walking all along, and we just didn’t know it yet. That’s how grace usually works, isn’t it?”
A quick note – I have decided to change Mama Reads to just a weekly feature, without the link party at the bottom. But I’d still love to read your words and hear from you! If you have an encouraging or inspiring blog post to share, feel free to post it any day on B-Inspired Mama’s facebook wall.
