More Mama Reads for Your Busy Week…
How was your week? Ours was fabulous! I took some time off blogging for a few days to finish up the house work and spend time with the kids. And… we FINALLY got the house listed. Yahoo! (Now to keep it clean and organized for showings… Ugh.)
Have a busy week coming up? (I know, I know… what mama doesn’t?!) Need some encouragement or just something to read in your downtime? Here are my favorite “Mama Reads” for you…
My Favorite “Mama Reads” This Week:
- When You Fear You’re Messing Up Your Kids – I’ve been working really, really hard to tame that negative self-talk. Have you?
“After 18 years of mothering, I haven’t been able to silence those “bad mom” voices completely. I probably never will. But I’ve learned not to agree with them anymore. You can, too.”
- How to Know When You’ve Done “Enough” – I say it all the time. In relation to my business, my parenting, running my household. There’s always more to do. But when do we stop and appreciate what we have already done?
“Every time you think that you should be doing more is actually a beautiful opportunity to shine a light inside yourself and ask, ‘Hmmm, in what way am I not honoring or believing that I am enough right now?’”
- The Best Parenting Advice I’ve Heard – YES! This is such good advice. But so hard to follow sometimes.
“When it looks like they need some help with a problem…just wait. They will either amaze you with their problem solving skills or let you know when they need help. When you rush in, you take away the joy of them figuring it out on their own.”
- Fear Based Parenting and The One Thing You Should Never Say – I do this all the time. Such a good read.
“I don’t want to be that tiny, terrifying voice inside my daughter’s head. I want to be the warmth in her heart that when she makes a mistake or defies me, she knows that I am going to hold her and love on her. I want her to know that I may express my disappointment in an action, defiance, or disobedience, but that it’s no bearing on who she is as a person and that I will always choose a relationship with herover petty feelings and heat-of-the-moment reactions. …That I will never leave her.”
Note – I have decided to change Mama Reads to just a weekly feature, without the link party at the bottom. But I’d still love to read your words and hear from you! If you have an encouraging or inspiring blog post to share, feel free to post it any day on B-Inspired Mama’s facebook wall.
How do you find encouragement and inspiration during your busy days, Mama? Do these “Mama Reads” help? I’d love to hear your thoughts in the comments below!
