What is the Toughest Job in the World?
I saw this video about the toughest job in the world on the morning news a couple of weeks ago, and caught on pretty quickly regarding what “JOB” the fake job requirements were referring to. See if you can guess…
Did you guess “MOM” before it was revealed? I know I can relate to many of those job requirements…
- 24 hour a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year work schedule
- When I am lucky enough to get a short break, I am still ALWAYS “ON CALL”
- The “mobility” requirement cracks me up. And when I can take a rest on the couch, it isn’t without my “associates” climbing all over me or laying on me, too.
- Oh and don’t get me started on the “no sleeping” requirement. Because my 3 “associates” are rarely all sleeping at the same time.
But The Toughest Job in the World DOES Come with It’s Rewards
I love the interview-ees reactions when the toughest job in the world – that they have “applied” for is revealed: “Is that even l-legal?” “Uh… I think that’s a little intense.” Ha! But their heartfelt reactions at the end – their messages to their own moms are priceless. THAT’s the REWARD!
Right now, with my little ones, my rewards are in snotty kisses, bear hugs, and the occasional, “You’re the best mommy in the world!” But I just hope that I do the “job” well enough that when my kids are grown, they’ll have heartfelt things to say to me, too.
