Parenting sucks.

Just when you think you’ve got something figured out, it changes.

Your child changes.

Your environment changes.

You change.

The unexpected happens.

New challenges arise.

Frustration wells up.

Feelings of doubt creep in.

You wonder if you’re a good mother; if you’re doing more harm than good for your kids.

And then you notice your little one look at you with a glimmer.

You feel their little hands wrap around yours.

Your heart fills with joy and love.

And you know that the fear, the doubt, the challenges…

…are all worth it.

Parenting sucks… sometimes;

But I won’t give up.

Because I know it’s “the good life.”
