What Do YOU Think About Mobile Phones for Kids?
I have to confess that I have totally handed my smartphone over to my 18 month old at a hectic doctor’s visit before. The colorful kids app I had quickly installed fascinated him. And it worked! He was calm and quiet for just a couple more minutes until the doctor came in. Isn’t it crazy how kids are so tuned into mobile technology so young?! I don’t mind letting my kids use my phone occasionally in situations like that one. But I must admit that I cringe when I see a young kid with their own cell phone. I’m just not sure how I feel about my kids being so connected so young. And apparently, I’m not alone. The team at Zact conducted a survey to find out more about parents’ thoughts on mobile phones for kids. Over seventy percent of U.S. parents are concerned about the lack of parental control of a child’s activities on mobile devices.
