A Creative & YUMMY Kids Thanksgiving Snack
I know, I know – it’s not even Halloween yet. But Thanksgiving is right around the corner. And Eggo’s Waffle Wednesday challenge for me this week was to come up with a fun way to incorporate their waffle goodness in a Thanksgiving recipe. And of course, I just had to do something fun for the kids. Last year we made turkeys for a the perfect Thanksgiving snack for kids. So this year I chose another favorite Thanksgiving symbol: the cornucopia. Here’s my idea for a yummy (and fairly healthy) kids Thanksgiving snack…
Kids Thanksgiving Cornucopia Snack
Ingredients:
- Eggo Buttermilk Waffle
- fresh fruit of choice
- candy corn
- tooth pick
Steps:
- Microwave the waffle for 30 seconds so that it warms but remains soft and pliable.
- Shape the soft waffle into a cornucopia shape and use a toothpick to secure. (MAKE SURE to remove the toothpick before serving to young kids.)
- Fill the cornucopia with fresh fruit and some candy corn.
- Enjoy!
My kids love fresh fruit. The warm Eggo Buttermilk Waffle was the perfect “horn of plenty” for their fresh fruit snack. And of course, they were extra excited by the festive candy corn treat thrown in.
How do you make your kids Thanksgiving fun? Do you have any fun Thanksgiving traditions?
