I went through a stage as a teen when I hated our family Christmas tree. It was always haphazardly decorated with mis-matched ornaments my brother and I made throughout our elementary years. I dreamed of the perfectly coordinated glittering trees I would see in the department stores and catalogs. But my mom would never let me transform our tree. She loved her nearly falling apart well-loved kid-crafted ornaments. Each one held a memory of her kids – my brother and I. I get it now, Mom. Now that I’m a mom, too, I can’t resist those ornaments my kids come home from school with or craft at the kitchen table on their days off.

So – in honor of my mama and her tree that still has those ornaments and now more from her grandkids – I thought I’d share some homemade Christmas ornaments ideas from some of my favorite fellow bloggers. Let’s start with Salt Dough…
