Water Activities for Kids to Cool Off this Summer!
It’s my kids’ last week of school. (Yes, we are always the last ones on summer vacation up here in New York state!) I guess it’s time for this mama to get planning some summer fun before the boredom kicks in. Knowing that the heat will only get worse, I’ve gathered up some fun water activities for kids from some of my favorite fellow blogging mamas. Let’s check ’em out…

12 WAY Fun Water Activities for Kids
- Do Some Water Science Activities – Just freely exploring water and it’s properties is great for kids’ to learn early science concepts. But here are some more intentional science experiments that involve water that you could try, too:
- Build A Water Wall – Use recyclables and flexible tubing to build a fun water wall on your backyard fence. It’s a fun way to play with water while also encouraging the learning of simple scientific concepts like gravity! Some water wall ideas:
- Go Beyond the Typical Kiddie Pool – I know the kiddie pool will get lots of use this summer. My kids love lounging in it and hopping in and out of it. But I’m loving all of the creative ways these blogging mamas enhanced their kids’ kiddie pool play:
- Learn & Play with Water Balloons – I know, I know. Water balloons are a blast as is. But I’m so impressed with these ideas for extended learning and playing with them:
Keep Their Skin Safe During Their Water Fun
Whether your just in the backyard doing fun water activities or on a big Summer Adventure, make sure everyone’s skin is protected from sun damage. I went to Walmart to stock up on Banana Boat® Sun Protection Products for the whole family. I chose the tear-free and sting-free SPF 50 Kids Sunscreen for the kids and the Sport Performance® Sunscreen for Cliff and I.
Whatever sun protection you need, Banana Boat® has you covered. Banana Boat® products not only protect your kiddos skin from sunburn, but also from unseen skin damage and skin cancer. Some advice from Banana Boat®:
“Be sure to apply 1 ounce (2 tablespoons) of sunscreen to you and your kids’ entire bodies 30 minutes before going outside and reapply every two hours or immediately after swimming or excessive sweating.”
