Fun Finds Friday – Help Children Clean Up Toys!
Tidying up toys is our biggest challenge in our family right now. We’re in the process of getting our home ready to list on the market for sale, so it’s more important than ever to keep the toys organized and the house clean. So I’ve gone on the hunt for some fun finds that can help my children clean up toys and keep their rooms and our home organized. Check out what I found…

11 Fun Finds to Help Children Clean Up Toys
- A Bin Toy Organizer – We have this colorful bin organizer in our living room for some frequently played with toys. The open top bins make it easy for the kids to toss their toys in at a moments notice. And the wooden frame that holds the bins looks a bit more sophisticated for our main living space than a big plastic toy box would.
- Stuffed Toy Hammock – I used to have one of these “toy hammocks” in my room as a kid for all of my stuffed animals. I might put one in the corner of the boys’ room where they can reach it from their bunk bed.
- A Front-Facing Book Rack – My kids have plenty of book shelves in their rooms right now. But get so messy so quick, with books leaning and falling all over. I could see where having a book rack like this one, with the books facing out, would help kids to keep then more organized and make their space look better.
- An Animal Bag – This Boon Animal Bag would be fun for kids to stuff their stuffed toys into. It can be used as a soft cushion or seat afterward, too!
- ToyDozer – These ToyDozers look pretty clever for helping the kids to clean up little toys like LEGOs. And the name would make it fun for imaginative construction-loving kids, too.
- Storage Bag Play Mat – I’m thinking that this Storage Bag Play Mat would be an awesome solution for my kids’ massive LEGO collection. With the rule that the LEGOs must stay on the mat during play, and they can then just cinch it up and put in the closet when done!
- ZipBins – These ZipBins are along the lines of the storage bag play mat above. They are a playmat that zips up to create a storage bin when done. I’d love to get one for J.C.’s matchbox car collection.
- An Outdoor Storage Seat – Cliff recently bought one of these outdoor storage containers for in the kids’ outside playspace. It’s been really helpful in keeping the yard cleaned up (and the kids’ outdoor toys safe from our chewing dog!).
- Toy Labels – This is something that I’m deficient in… labeling storage. I’m sure my kids would be able to clean their toys up much easier if I had toy labels (like these printable ones with images) to help them know where to put things.
- A Timer – Cleanup is less intimidating when you set a timer to just a few minutes. And racing against the timer makes it fun for kids, too. We love these simple cube timers in our house.
- Music! – My kids are far more likely to help clean up toys or do housework if we pair the task with fun, upbeat music. They’re especially loving KidzBop Dance Party songs lately.
