Easter Basket Traditions to Make Easter Awesome!
I share lots of learning activities and kids crafts and cute recipes here at B-Inspired Mama; and yes, sometimes they probably seem too complicated, too messy or simply unrealistic. I know you pin them with good intentions but often never get to them. Trust me; I get it! I’m overwhelmed juggling this mamahood and working and “wifing” and just being me, too. Which is why I love sharing posts like this one. With simple little things you can do to make memories – when linked with a holiday, an annual family event – become special memorable traditions. Today I’m partnering with Disney – inspired by their awesome Disney Junior Easter collection at Walmart – to bring you some fun and simple traditions involving Easter Baskets. Let’s check ’em out…
6 Fun and Easy Easter Basket Traditions
- Make a Themed Basket – A fun Easter tradition is to create an Easter Basket around a specific theme. It could be a hobby your child loves or their favorite cartoon character. Disney Junior makes this easy peasy with their Disney Junior Easter collection at Walmart. I was able to find everything in one spot – right in the seasonal aisle – for this sweet Minnie themed Easter Basket. From cute character hair accessories to stationery sets to magnet play sets to tattoo-filled eggs – just to name a few. There were other Disney Junior Characters to choose from, too, like Mickey Mouse, Doc McStuffins, Sofia the First, and more!
- Use a Non-Easter-y Basket – One tradition I have is getting my kids baskets that aren’t “Easter-y”. I steer clear of the typical pastel and bunny decorated baskets and opt for a container that I know will get use beyond Easter. The plush Easter baskets from Walmart in the theme of Disney Junior Characters are perfect for this, too.
- Hide It – Make the kids work a little for their Easter baskets! Hide them in a silly or unusual spot. You can even hide it outdoors if the weather’s nice. And you can make it harder as they get older, too. Here’s a silly spot my kids are sure to get a good giggle from…
- Make a Trail – If you have a young child, make finding that Easter Basket a little easier with a trail leading to it. In the past I’ve made a trail of wrapped Easter candy, but you could also use plastic Easter Eggs filled with non-candy treats. Check out the cute Disney Junior Character “Eggs” I found with the Disney Junior Easter goodies at Walmart…
- Make Bunny Footprints – Or instead of a trail of eggs, how about making a trail of Easter Bunny Footprints? Find out how and get a free printable template (via The Humanist Home).
- Or Make a Scavenger Hunt – Or for older kids who can read, make finding their baskets fun with a scavenger hunt. Here are some free printable clues you could use (via Stuffed Suitcase).
