Psst… Busy Moms Can Serve Fancy Meals, Too!
Imagine…
You finally sit down for 10 minutes to (hopefully) make a dent in the endlessly overflowing laundry basket. Two kids on the couch next to you start arguing over the video game they’re supposed to be playing together. Yet another child whines that she wants another after school snack.
And there are no dinner plans in sight. You didn’t get a chance to make a meal plan this week. And the only ingredients in the house are frozen or in a box in the pantry.
The dog’s barking floats over the kid chaos to alert you to a delivery on the porch.
You leave the laundry basket – with what looks like no progress at all – to check the front door. A box. A heavenly, glowing box (okay, so not really glowing) with blue graphics on the side assuring you it’s full of meal recipes and fresh ingredients.
You’re Blue Apron box – and the answer to your busy-mama-dinner-troubles – has arrived.
Why Try Meal Ingredient Delivery? – My Blue Apron Review
I know how hectic getting dinner on the table can be.
I all-too-often resort to take out pizza while we watch TV (It’s a picnic, yo!) or dinner in the car from some random drive through.
But I’ve shared here at B-Inspired Mama before about how important it is for me to make that dinner time a priority – and more meaningful – for my family. And it’s so much more meaningful (nevertheless more healthy!) when it’s at home, around the dining room table, right?
So when I was invited to try out Blue Apron – a meal recipes and fresh ingredients delivery service – I jumped right on board.
Here’s my Blue Apron Review along with some reasons you’ll love it, too!

1. No Meal Planning Needed – I’ve found that we eat more meals at home when I’ve planned out our menu ahead of time. I have the kids help choose meals for each evening then make my grocery shopping list based on our plan. But that doesn’t always happen.
[Tweet “No plan? No problem. @BlueApron does all the planning for you.”]
2. No Shopping (with Kids) – My Blue Apron box came with 3 recipes and all of the ingredients needed to make them. No shopping necessary. And no dirty looks from other shoppers at the grocery store because of my kids’ crazy behavior. Score!
3. No Food Waste – The ingredients included in my Blue Apron box were already perfectly measured for each recipe. So no waste from trying a new recipe and having to buy a huge container of one random ingredient. And no waste of fresh food gone bad because I impulsively bought it without a meal plan to actually use it! (Tell me I’m not the only one who does this.)
4. New Foods & Recipes to Try – I’m a little embarrassed to admit that our Blue Apron recipes included fruits and vegetables we’ve never cooked with. And never even eaten. We got to try mashed plantains and collard greens. Super cool!
5. Some Cooking Fun for Mama – Cooking after a long day of mamahood, with loud hungry kids around, isn’t always fun. But my Blue Apron box included big bright recipe cards, showing every step in pictures, making cooking the new recipes pretty easy and fun. Plus with all of the ingredients already measured, that annoying step isn’t needed.
6. Farm-Fresh Ingredients – Often when we do have dinner at home, it’s something easy out of the freezer. I try to throw in a fresh side salad or some fruit on the side. But the main course is often processed and full of extras I can’t pronounce. My Blue Apron meals were full of farm-fresh ingredients: meats naturally raised on antibiotic- and hormone-free diets, direct from the farmer vegetables, and seasonal fruits at peak-freshness.

I have always wanted to try this, mainly because I get in a food rut and don’t try new things. This would help with making new recipes and not having to go to the store is a big bonus!!
