Mac and Cheese Fun with the Kids in the Kitchen!
While we love homemade mac and cheese, some days are just boxed mac and cheese days, ya know? We recently discovered Horizon Classic Mac; since it has 10 grams of protein and is made with organic pasta and cheese, it makes for a quick kids’ meal that I can feel good serving them. But I do like to add stuff to our mac and cheese to make it a more balanced – or even just more FUN – meal. Check out these ideas for fun mac and cheese add-ins…

My cracker-loving kids got a kick out of the cow-shaped Horizon Snack Crackers on top of their mac and cheese. And they loved the crunch it gave their creamy macaroni, too; almost like cripsy breadcrumbs.
Have a kiddo that’s gluten-sensitive or -intolerant? Horizon just came out with a boxed Gluten-Free Macaroni and White Cheddar Cheese that you should give a try, too. It would be perfect with one of the meats or veggies added in.
Have you ever added other “stuff” to your kids’ mac and cheese? If so, what’s their favorite add-in? If not, get the kids in the kitchen today to help you make their own unique mac and cheese meal!
