A Fun Show + Free Resources for Children with Autism!
From birth children are social beings. They are learning and growing through social development and interaction. But sometimes that social development stalls or seems unnatural. More and more of these children are diagnosed with autism, aspergers, or other attention or sensory disorders. But sometimes they aren’t diagnosed at all. If you have a child (or work with a child) with social or emotional difficulties, you’re going to love the resources I’ve found for you today!
Flummox and Friends Helps Children with Autism Tune In and Connect
Flummox and Friends is a new live-action comedy show that follows the adventures of three quirky inventors and their silly inventions…
“Flummox and Friends features three smart and quirky inventors, Professor Gideon T. Flummox and his assistants, Milo and Wanda. Many of their inventions are designed to help them overcome challenges they encounter when interacting with their neighbors: a bubbly chef and a self-absorbed adventurer.
Their inventions are well-intentioned, but often impractical or comically non-functional. When their designs fall short, the inventors and their friends come up with easier and more practical ways they—and the viewers—can navigate everyday social challenges and emotional hurdles.”

Additional Free Resources for Children with Autism
What I love the most about Flummox and Friends is that it’s based on an entire curriculum for children with autism and social difficulties called “Tune In. Connect. Have Fun!” They offer great tips for kids to practice tuning it and connecting and even have printables for families and teachers to use.
My Priscilla and Sawyer aren’t diagnosed with Autism and don’t seem to exhibit any specific social difficulties, but they still loved watching the Flummox and Friends episode and giggling at the silly inventions and antics. And I think the tips from Flummox and Friends to “Tune In. Connect. Have Fun!” are great for all kids to remember.
