Isn’t every mom striving to be a better mom?
I know I always feel like there is room for improvement. Even on my best parenting days.
The specifics might be a little different – getting organized, being healthier, having more patience – but the end goal is the same: to be the best mom you can be. So I thought it would be perfect to begin a new parenting series here at B-Inspired Mama to help with just that. Each Thursday, we will feature one mom and her specific resolution to help her “Be the Best Mom” this year. Plus she will share her game plan and helpful resources to achieve that specific goal.
I’ll start…
How will I be the best mom I can be this year?
More Positive Thinking

My New Year’s resolution to be a better mom this year starts with more positive thinking. It’s so easy as a busy, tired work-at-home-mom to get lost in negativity; to feel frustrated and defeated as a mom. But I know that a positive outlook can make all of the difference in my day and therefore the day of my kids.
My Better Mama Resolution: Think Positive to Be a Better Mom
In 2009, I was knee-deep in post-partum depression and marital difficulties. I wrote this list of 10 things I love about being a mom to remind myself of my blessings.
A lot has changed since then: a divorce, huge financial changes, a relocation, a sweet new baby, bariatric surgery, a new fiance.
But every aspect of that list remains the same. And while I feel that I’m in a better place in my life now, I still need to remind myself once in awhile why I love being a mom.
When I’m having a bad day; one of those days where I am wondering why in the heck I decided to be a work-at-home-mom…. I will look back at this list and remember to think positive and be the best mom I can be.

Thank you for sharing this! I love the “10 things I love about being a mom.” The first thing that I will change to be a better mom is that no matter how tired I am from work, I will always see to it that my kids will have my 100% attention every time I get home. I am guilty of ignoring them sometimes especially when I am very exhausted from work and I realized how bad that is for my kids. I hope I can be a better mom this year!
