Mr. Pumpkin Head [Guest Post from Tutus & Tea Parties]

Last year Sawyer and Priscilla were just two and four years old.  And this tired (and pregnant) mama was looking for some EASY, last minute pumpkin decorating activities.  So instead of making a carving or painting mess, I gave the kids some Mr. Potato Head parts to push into their pumpkins.  They had so much fun!

Lauren from Tutus and Tea Parties had the same idea for her little ones.  (Great mama’s think alike!)  But I love how she uses a foam pumpkin, so it can be used over and over again.  And she’s so creative she used golf tees to make her own parts, too!  Check it out…

What you will need:

-Foam pumpkin (we got ours in the dollar section of Target – I think it was $2)

-Mr. Potato Head pieces -or- golf tees and card stock cut into facial shapes

What to do:

If you are making your own pieces, you will need to cut out lip, nose, eye shapes out of card stock and glue to the golf tee.

Before handing it off to your toddler you will need to make the holes in the pumpkin using a golf tee or Mr. Potato Head piece.

Leave it out and let your toddler have at it! It’s fun to switch it up by using a pumpkin for October. My little one kept saying how silly it was!

Have fun with your Mr. Pumpkin Head!
